Cathy Chukwueke is a litigation associate at Romero Law, APC. Ms. Chukwueke obtained her Juris Doctor at Pepperdine University School of Law, where she was the recipient of the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship and was the recipient of the CALI Award for Communication and Conflict. While at Pepperdine, Ms. Chukwueke co-founded the Transactional and In-House Law Student Association and served as its first President. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Chukwueke obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of California, Irvine, with a Minor in African American Studies.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Chukwueke was a law clerk at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise USA (ALE) where she actively participated in the due diligence related to its divestiture from its French parent entity. While at ALE, Ms. Chukwueke worked directly with General Counsel and outside counsel in relation to pending litigation matters and assisted in the creation and implementation of a protocol to facilitate the name change transition for the new corporation.
Also during law school, Ms. Chukwueke was recognized with the Outstanding Advocate Award and was a Regional Semi-Finalist in the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition. Additionally, Ms. Chukwueke participated in the California Attorney for Criminal Justice National Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition and served as a judicial extern in the chambers of the Hon. David S. Cunningham III at the Los Angeles Superior Court.
